StockBridge High school formed a group called the "StockBridge Advanced Underwater Robotics Team" to build, test and employ an UROV to help discover downed World War II planes in the Palau islands. The StockBridge Advanced Underwater Robotics Team selected Crustcrawlers 400HFS-L thrusters as part of their overall UROV design package. After months of testing in pools and successfully diving and taking pictures of ships wrecks in Lake Michigan, the team was ready to employ their UROV to explore the depths off the islands of Palau for the missing Marine Corsairs shot down in 1944.
To say the least, the StockBridge Advanced Underwater Robotics team was highly successful in locating and taking pictures of a downed Marine Corsair sitting on the bottom of the ocean in approximately 80 feet of water!
